The Jesus Who Sees Everything

Revelation 2:18-29, Matthew 2:4

Today I ate Revelation 2:18-29 and, in parallel, I’ve been writing Matthew as well. Today, the Lord helped me finish chapter 4. I’m writing Matthew while also watching "The Chosen", so it’s kinda helping me connect things and see the context a little better.

From Revelation, today I read the part where Jesus is talking to the church in Thyatira. And here, I saw a Jesus who is a Judge. His eyes are like blazing fire and His feet are like burnished bronze. There’s something so weighty about seeing Jesus this way.

When I read about each church, I’ve started considering that I am that church and that Jesus is talking to me. Somehow, this is helping me renew my mind. His Word isn’t just about "them". It is speaking to me.

He is the One who knows our love, faith, service and perseverance. And He even acknowledges that I, the church, am now doing more than I did at first. That reminded me of El-Roi, "The God who sees." Yeah, He still does!

But the same Jesus who sees what is good also sees what needs to change. He corrects me not to tolerate Jezebel and to stay alert when it comes to idolatry. Abbah, help me!

One important characteristic of Jesus that I understood from this passage is in verse 23. He is the One who SEARCHES HEARTS AND MINDS. Nothing is hidden from Him. And He will REPAY EACH ONE OF US ACCORDING TO OUR DEEDS.

That also reminded me not to learn Satan’s so-called "deep secrets", but to stay holy and hold on to what I have received.

And then... comes the most exciting part.

THE PROMISE.

Verses 26 and 28. If I’m victorious, I’ll be given:

1. Authority over nations
2. A morning star

I’m keeping track of these promises and asking God in prayer to help me be victorious, so that I may inherit all that He has promised.

So far, 6 promises:

1. Eat from the tree of life
2. Not be hurt by the second death
3. Hidden manna
4. A white stone with a new name
5. Authority over nations
6. The morning star

I want to overcome. I want to remain faithful till the end.

From Matthew, I learnt a lot. But one particular verse became very personal to me. Matthew 4:24.

Jesus healed those suffering pain.

I paused there for a long time, especially because I’m going through some pain myself. I hope and believe that Jesus will heal me too.

Nothing more to say.

Precious Holy Spirit, help me, please.... Thank You for all the pain, because nothing happens outside of Your will. If You are willing, heal me. If not, give me Your grace. Help me to be victorious and inherit all that You have promised. Open my eyes to understand the Scriptures so that I may glorify our Father in heaven. Please bless the readers as well.

Father God, I love You.
