Job 37:14 — “Listen to this, O Job; stand still and consider the wondrous works of God.”

Sometimes, in our trials, times of suffering, financial crises, and difficult seasons, we tend to become like Job and ask God, “Where did I go wrong, Lord? What sin have I committed?” We may even become hypocritical and declare ourselves innocent.

Sometimes, we become so hasty in making decisions, taking actions, or replying to someone that we forget that we have a God who is mighty enough to solve our problems. We just need to be still.

As the Lord says in Psalm 46:10, “Be still, and know that I am God.”

In our times of suffering, we need to remember God's wondrous works that He has done in our lives and realize that our hope lies in Him. Sometimes, simply remembering or reminding ourselves of how mighty our God is gives us the endurance and hope to face whatever circumstances we may be going through.

In the Old Testament, we repeatedly see how God reminded His people of the wondrous works He had done for them. In the same way, we should remember what God has done in our lives and trust Him even when we cannot understand what He is doing.

Be still. Remember His faithfulness. Trust Him.

Amen 🙏
