God's laws ensured just reprisal for anyone's deeds, such as 'an eye for an eye...' (24).
In the New Testament, Christ Jesus goes a step further by showing us to love our enemies, and to suffer wrong for righteousness' sake.
This shows that God is not just a God of justice, but also God of unconditional love.
We must display these attributes of justice and unconditional love too.
