Jesus said to them, “My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I, too, am working.” - John 5:17
God created the heavens and the earth simply by His word. After completing creation, He rested on the seventh day. Yet His work did not end there. God continues to work every day: working in our lives, guiding us, transforming us, drawing people closer to Him, answering prayers, and making His presence known in ways we may not always recognize.
Jesus reminds us that God's work is not limited to one moment of creation; it continues in the lives of every person.
This should also challenge us in our own lives. We are not called to live in laziness, idleness, or constant procrastination. Rest has its rightful place, but our lives should also have purpose, discipline, and action. Just as our Father is continually at work, we too should be willing to work by using the gifts, opportunities, and time He has given us.
“Am I working according to God's will?”
May our work, studies, responsibilities, and service become ways through which God can work through us.
God is always working. Let us not remain idle.
Your quiet time isn't just for you.
