FINALLY… Revelation!

Rev 1:1-11

Umm... FINALLY I’m reading Revelation! Eating this book is kinda special for me. This is the book which I’ve started many times and couldn’t continue, and somehow I’ve developed this unnecessary fear around reading it. Idk what it is exactly. Maybe the whole idea of "end times" and everything around it made my view of this book so different. I’ve read the gospels and Epistles multiple times but Revelation?! I’ll honestly be surprised if I complete this book cuz I’ve failed many times before •_• Tbh, I think I’ve developed an "Inertia of non-reading" for this book. Well, I’ve decided to overcome this inertia, starting from TODAY! Ofc, completely depending on the Precious Holy Spirit. I hope to stay consistent and gain A LOT of calories from this book. And here we go... HALLELUJAH! Abbah, pls help me!

Today I ate Revelation 1:1-11. I’m gonna go v slowly with this one. I don’t wanna rush. I want to understand what the Lord is trying to teach me. And for that very reason, it may take me a long time to finish this book. But guess what?! My friend, my Precious Holy Spirit is with me. And that’s enough...
Verse 3 gave me SO much joy! "Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy. Blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it." WAIT! I’m so blessed from the moment I start reading this book? WOW.

Then verses 4 to 6 really stood out to me. John speaks about the One who is, who was, and who is to come, and the seven spirits before His throne. I did a lil research and understood this as the sevenfold Spirit of God - the Spirit of the Lord, wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge and the fear of the Lord. And then Jesus is described as the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead and the ruler of the kings of the earth. But what really touched me was this... HE LOVES US. verse 6 is so close to my heart - "To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father - to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen". WOW. I feel so loved reading this...

And verse 8... "I am the Alpha and the Omega." The One who is, who was and who is to come, the Almighty. WHOa. That made me pause. Jesus is not just someone I’m reading about. He is my God. How can someone be my God, my Lord, my Father and My friend all at once?! So cool. (Lord and friend by cece winans is what comes to my lips right now)...

Then John calls himself our brother and companion in suffering, kingdom and patient endurance that are ours in Christ Jesus. That really stood out to me. These are part of my journey with Jesus. And then he is told to write what he sees and send it to the seven churches. So tomorrow, I’ll continue and see what Mr. HS wants to show me next.

For today, this is my meal. And honestly? I’m already full.

Precious Holy Spirit, help me. Remove every unnecessary fear and help me understand, receive and take to heart your word. Help me stay consistent till the end. Abba, I’m depending on You! Please bless the readers as well. 

Father God, thanks for blessing me in Christ already. I love you so much.
