Faithful Till the End

Revelation 2:8-11

Today I ate Revelation 2:8-11. I’m really liking this way of reading Revelation slowly. Instead of trying to finish a whole chapter, I’m just sitting with what the Precious Holy Spirit is showing me...

This passage is Jesus speaking to the church in Smyrna. They were going through suffering and poverty, yet Jesus says they were rich. That really made me think. What the world calls lack may not actually be lack in the eyes of Jesus. (Again, The Kingdom of God is upside down!)

And then comes the part I’m noticing in each of these passages now... what does Jesus promise to the one who overcomes?

"Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor's crown."

And then, "The one who is victorious will not be hurt at all by the second death."

That is SO comforting. If I remain faithful to Jesus, even death cannot have the final word over me. There is a crown of life waiting, and the second death cannot touch me. Thank You, Lord.

I don’t know what all the future holds, but I know what I want. I wanna remain faithful to Jesus till the end.

Precious Holy Spirit, help me. When suffering comes, help me not to be afraid. Help me remain faithful to Jesus no matter what. Keep my eyes on eternity and make me more like my beloved Jesus.

Father God, thank You for loving me so richly and blessing me in Christ. I love You too. Help me. And please bless everyone who reads this. Draw them closer to Jesus and speak to them through Your Word.
