Matthew 2:1-17 & Rev 2:1-7
As I write this, I feel so exhausted and filled at the same time. Maybe both these feelings can coexist. It’s 11:57pm, and I’m reflecting on what I read and gained today.
Today was SO different. I not only ate, but was also spoonfed the Precious Scriptures. I was led to go for a fasting prayer and there was a guest pastor who taught from Romans 8 in the morning, about suffering leading to joy, and from Job 38 about suffering being intended to make me more like Jesus. A lot of calories were there. A LOT. I need some time to take in everything because God clearly spoke to me today. I’ll better reflect on the written notes in one of the coming days.
Then I ate Matthew 2:1-17. The Magi came looking for Jesus, worshipped him and gave him their treasures. Joseph too, when God warned him, just obeyed. I was thinking about how I seek Jesus, what I’m willing to give him and whether I’m willing to obey even when I don’t understand everything. I want to be someone who keeps choosing Jesus...
And then Revelation 2:1-7. Verse 4 really got me...They were doing so many things right, but Jesus still had something against them. They had forsaken their first love!! Oh, and I take this seriously. I wanna love Jesus more than yesterday... Lord, please help me love You more. Help me do the right things that are pleasing to your eyes. I don’t want to be busy doing things for you and somehow lose the love I have for gou. Pls help me lord....
And verse 7! "TO THE ONE WHO IS VICTORIOUS, I WILL GIVE THE RIGHT TO EAT FROM THE TREE OF LIFE, WHICH IS IN THE PARADISE OF GOD." Hurray!! I’m so excited to eat from the tree of life. I wanna overcome. I wanna remain faithful till the end. (Just imagine, we'll be eating from the tree of life one day! Wow :) I think that it'd be so cool!)
Today I feel like the Lord gave me more than I could take in one day. And maybe that’s okay (a lot more calories from Romans 8, Job 38 etc also - I'll not write it now). I’ll go back to my notes in the coming days and let the Precious Holy Spirit keep speaking.
My friend, My Precious Holy Spirit, thank You for spoon-feeding me your word today. Help me not just to hear what you speak, but to live it. Help me love Jesus more than yesterday and become more like him every day, every way! Keep me faithful till the end. And please bless everyone who reads this. Speak to them personally through Your Word and draw them closer to Jesus.
Father God, I love you!In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Your quiet time isn't just for you.
