This morning I ate the word from Mark 3 & 4.
I'm sitting inside the train from Pune to Kerala and reading the scriptures while waiting to see my family - this gives me immense joy!
From Mark 3 I’m reminded that Jesus looks at the heart, not just outward religious behaviour. He chose the twelve to be with Him before sending them out. That challenged me... Before I do something for Jesus, I need to learn to simply be with Jesus!! I also notice that Jesus was deeply moved by people’s hardness of heart. As a Christovert, I want to carry His compassion and not become so religious that I lose love..
In Mark 4, I read the parable of the sower and thaty made me pause. SELAH😄. The same seed was sown, but the condition of the soil determined the fruit. I need to ask myself, What kind of soil is my heart? I don't want God's Word to be something I hear and forget. I want it to take deep root, grow, and produce fruit. And when Jesus calmed the storm, He reminded me that His presence is greater than my circumstances. Even when I don't understand what He is doing, I can trust Him.
Precious Holy spirit, Help me to be more like Jesus and help the readers as well. Amen!
Your quiet time isn't just for you.
