A Christovert Doesn’t Chase Greatness

This morning I ate the word from Mark 10.

It's 6.50am, and it's FREEZING cold here at the campsite! 🥶😄 Everyone is probably still wrapped up in their blankets, but here I am, sitting with the Word. And honestly, what a beautiful way to start a morning! As I read the scriptures, my heart goes to the Lord who is the Father of us all. Father, talk to me through Your Word today. Make me more like Jesus. Amen!

There are so many things in this chapter, but one thing that really caught me was Jesus saying, "Whoever wants to be first must be slave of all." Again Jesus is turning everything upside down!! The world teaches me to become great, to be noticed, to be above others. But Guess what, Jesus teaches me to SERVE! And if I am becoming a Christovert, shouldn't I be becoming someone who serves like Jesus?

And then I noticed how Jesus welcomed the little children. He didn't consider them unimportant. He stopped for them, took them in His arms and blessed them. Aww... Jesus is so sweet, hai na!❤️ (I love this portion because I also love the little children) That made me think about how I see people who cannot give me anything back. Do I value them like Jesus does? If I am becoming a Christovert, I should be learning to see people the way Jesus sees them.

Then the rich young man came running to Jesus, and Jesus looked at him and loved him. But Jesus asked him to give up what was holding his heart. That made me pause. SELAH😄. What are the things I am holding on to? Am I willing to leave anything if Jesus asks me to? A Christovert cannot hold anything above Jesus.

And then Jesus says, "With man this is impossible, but not with God." Ahh! What a hope! There are things I cannot change by myself, but God can.

Precious Holy Spirit, help me not to chase greatness, but to serve. Help me to love people like Jesus, hold nothing above Him, and follow Him even when it costs me. Make me a Christovert who looks, loves and serves like Jesus. Help the readers too. Father God, I love You!
